Starting Out
What began as a love for film scores, photography, and writing eventually morphed into a passion for filmmaking.
Despite spending my first year at UC Berkeley as a pre-medical student, I took a leap of faith and spent that summer doing a filmmaking intensive at the New York Film Academy in Burbank, CA, learning from industry professionals.
Moving Forward
I returned to UC Berkeley and found that my drive to tell stories had only grown stronger. Luckily, I was able to find my trusted circle of collaborators and friends along the way.
My passion for bringing diverse stories to the screen has never wavered. People of color, especially women of color, have such unique journeys and are slowly making their way into Hollywood, and nothing would make me happier than to join their ranks and push this movement ever forward.

As we progress backwards in time, young Margaret sees the worst in herself emerge as she is crushed by the pressure of presenting herself as a worthy beauty queen. Heavy is the head that wears the crown.

A young man living what he considers to be a boring life suddenly discovers that he has the power to change the real world while dreaming, but at the cost of gradual paralysis. He must decide whether to continue making changes for the good of humanity at the cost of his life.

Film Score Favorites
Interstellar, by Hans Zimmer. This score is inexplicably cerebral. Zimmer's pieces reverberate within you and truly make me empathize with the characters’ emotions. Interstellar specifically started me off on my film journey: Zimmer is known for tinkering with traditional instruments, and his work, combined with Christopher Nolan’s phenomenal films, have inspired me to break through boundaries in whatever I pursue.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part I, by Alexandre Desplat. Desplat is basically the master of introspective film composition. Fans of Harry Potter (that includes me) were expecting a LOT from the last installment of the epic series, and Desplat exceeded expectations with this score. The score is absolutely essential in making or breaking a film, and this one definitely made it.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, by Daniel Pemberton. This film's unique take on a comic-book animation style was groundbreaking, and the characters, dialogue, and score were nothing short of iconic. The sheer creativity behind this score blew me away. It perfectly captured the glitchy, futuristic tone of the film while at the same time giving our new stereotype-defying superhero the legendary score he deserved.
Finding Dory, by Thomas Newman. Ever wondered what it feels like to live under the sea? I used to want to be a marine biologist when I was little, which was probably inspired by watching Finding Nemo, also composed by Newman. He has captured the feeling of being under the ocean like no other; his incredible range has allowed him to compose movies of all genres, from an animation movie like this one to war drama 1917, all with masterful control.
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, by Theodore Shapiro. A lot of my personal inspiration stems from this film and I could personally relate to its themes. (I even visited some of the filming sites in Iceland shortly after first watching this movie!) Mitty’s nature is beautifully matched by the artful, uplifting score, and González’s songs in the film are some of my all-time favorites.
Love, Rosie, by Ralf Wengenmayr. Fair warning, if you’re feeling nostalgic, this score will probably make you tear up a little bit. This isn’t just your average romcom score - this is easily one of the most bittersweet compositions I have ever heard. I find this score perfect to listen to on a rainy day or when I’m writing a script. These songs are quietly breathtaking.
